“We were just working on a scene during which the tiger was supposed to rush after the operator, but the assistants did not react in time and Shakira continued to attack. I had to intervene. The wounds from the blow turned out to be very deep, even stabbed. The tigress just sank her claws into my thigh, - Askold said.
Fortunately, she did not grip her teeth. I managed to grab Shakira by the face, an assistant came in time and pulled her aside,”Askold said. He does not blame the predator for not mastering his instincts, and believes that he was simply provoked. Allegedly, he was given the opportunity to catch up and he felt the taste of the hunt.
Last year, the trainer underwent several spinal surgeries - echoes of long-standing injuries and falls.
European surgeons inserted three artificial intervertebral discs into Askold and strongly recommended not to perform any more. But without a circus and his animals, Zapashny could not for a long time - after all, from the age of ten he has been doing what he loves. And the jump on horseback is even recorded in the Guinness Book of the Record. By the way, the trainers also have an older sister, Maritsa, who is the only one in the world to train black panthers.
