Creating a new version of "Fantastic Four", the bosses of the studio 20th Century Fox, probably thought of such a fashionable word today as a sequel. The studio's producers were planning to shoot another full-fledged "superhero" franchise, but it seems that now they are forced to abandon their plans.
The reason for this was the scanty box office receipts: with a budget of 120 million, the Fantastic Four managed to earn only 167 million, ie. net profit was 47 million.
Note that even before the premiere of the first Fantastic Four movie, the release date for the second part of the story was planned. It was supposed to take place on June 9, 2017. Perhaps in a hurry to talk about their plans, 20th Century Fox just jinxed the franchise and now they themselves are suffering from their actions.
By the way, the competitors of 20th Century Fox took advantage of this date and on June 9, Paramount studio will present the sequel to "War of the Worlds Z", which stars Brad Pitt.
