Yesterday in Hollywood, Variety, the most authoritative magazine about the film business, held its second annual reception. "The power of women" (Variety's 2nd Annual Power Of Women). On this occasion, the publication gathered ladies who distinguished themselves in any activity - creative, charitable, or whatever.

Lifetime Achievement and Save the Children Award went to actress Jennifer Garner. Eva Mendes was recognized for her collaboration with the Art of Elysium non-profit foundation, which encourages the creative intelligentsia to help children suffering from various medical diseases. Katie Holmes was awarded for her work with the Dizzy Feet Foundation, which helps teens become professional dancers and generally improves dance education in America.
