Video: Jamie Dornan Will Star In A War Drama
The adaptation of Fifty Shades of Gray was a good start for Jamie Dornan… After playing the role of a billionaire with sadomasochistic inclinations, the actor's career took off, and now he is offered work in very interesting projects. One of these was the war drama "Anthropoid", which deals with the murder of one of the ideologues of the Holocaust.
In the film, Dornan will still not get the main role. The Briton will play a soldier of the Czechoslovak army, who in 1942 committed the assassination of SS Obergruppenfuehrer Reinhard Heydrich, who served as head of the RSHA (General Directorate of Imperial Security). For the cruelty with which Heydrich suppressed resistance in his post as protector of Bohemia and Moravia, the SS Obergruppenführer was nicknamed the Prague Butcher.
In addition to Dornan, the film will appear Cillian Murphywho will play his partner. The film will be directed by Sean Ellis.
Oscar and BAFT nominee Ellis says it is a great honor for him to get in touch with the story and bring it to the big screen. “I've been working on this story for about 14 years. It is extremely important for me to show the courage of Czech men and women who fought for the freedom of their country from Nazi Germany,”says the director.
The drama will begin filming in July. Anthropoid's premiere date has yet to be set.
