On February 24, 2020, a meeting was held at which Harvey was charged with crimes and arrested. Immediately after the sentencing, the man was sent to the hospital, where he underwent major heart surgery. The day after the operation, the producer was immediately transferred to a strict regime colony. Tomorrow, March 11, the last meeting will be held for Weinstein, at which the final verdict and term of imprisonment will be known. So far, under all articles, a man must be imprisoned for 25 years. However, Harvey's lawyers demand a different decision from the judges, based on the age of their client, as well as the state of health, they are asking to give a man a minimum term of five years.

More than 80 women sued Harvey Weinstein for participating in sex scandals. However, the court charged him with only two proven cases of real involvement. The first occurred in 2006, when Harvey forced his assistant Mimi Haley into oral sex. The second proven case occurred in 2010, when the producer raped the aspiring actress Jessica Mann. For these two acts, the man faces 25 years in prison.

At the moment, Harvey has already turned 68 years old and his health condition is in critical condition, therefore lawyers are urging to reduce the term of imprisonment to 5 years.

It is also known that last week the New York prosecutor's office announced that it would consider the conclusion of a well-known producer as life imprisonment. They disagree with the court's decision regarding only two proven stories.

It is worth recalling that the scandal with the Hollywood producer began in 2017, when more than 100 women went to court with accusations. Unfortunately, not all of them have officially applied. Harvey was released after a hefty $ 1 million bail was posted. Weinstein himself still denies his guilt and does not take responsibility for the crimes.
