Vanessa Bryant's Mother Said Her Daughter Kicked Her Out Of The House

Vanessa Bryant responds to her mother's comments about their relationship after the latter gave an interview in which she claimed that her daughter kicked her out of the house.

Bryant's mother Sophia Lane told Univision this week that a 38-year-old woman forced her out of the family home and also forced her to return the car she used.

In response, Bryant - the widow of basketball player Kobe Bryant - said in a statement: “My husband and daughter passed away suddenly, and yet my mom has the courage to be interviewed on television, speaking negatively about me, shedding tears over the car and the house that was not even registered in her name."

“She took off all her diamond jewelry, emptied her apartment that I provide, and put the furniture in storage to make it look like she has no support,” Bryant said. “My husband and I have provided financial support for her for the past 20 years, and I continue to do so in addition to her monthly alimony.”

The statement goes on to say, “Contrary to previous reports, she was neither physically nor emotionally present to support me and my daughters following the death of my husband and daughter. Looking ahead, I understand that it really turned out to be the most important for my mom, and it cannot do any harm. I hope this will end the public broadcast of our personal relationship.”

The late NBA star, 41, and the couple's second oldest daughter, Gianna, 13, died in a tragic plane crash in January along with seven other passengers. Other fatalities in the Calabasas accident included Payton Chester, 13, Sarah Chester, 46, Alyssa Altobelli, 14, Keri Altobelli, 46, John Altobelli, 56, Christina Mauser, 38, and helicopter pilot Ara Zobayan, 50.

Bryant is also the mom of Natalia, 17, Bianca Bella, 3.5, and 14-month-old Capri Kobe, all from her late husband.
