Chrissy Teigen is cutting back on Thanksgiving for her family this year.
The author of the bestselling cookbook Cravings, traditionally the queen of side dishes, says she and her husband, John Legend, have shifted their focus from food to celebration itself.
“This is simply not in me! I've been doing this for 10 years with John and his family, and I think I'm a little tired of wasting so much food - it's too difficult, too much energy,”says 34-year-old Teigen.
“We're just going to do something simple and quick and it will be beautiful and we will watch football,” she adds. John Legend, 41, says, "We're shrinking a little!"
The couple - parents of daughter Luna, 4, and son Miles, 2 - have partnered with McDonald's to help other families with severely ill or injured children through the charities Ronald McDonald House and say they are just happy to be with their loved ones together this year.
“We try to spend more time with our family,” says Teigen. “I no longer want to get up at 4 am all week to eat. I want to enjoy food with my family while they enjoy it.”
From now until December 31st, McDonald's will provide $ 100 in a $ 100 million commitment over the next five years for every photo or video posted to Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, or Facebook using #HereForRMHC.
“There are all sorts of families facing health problems for their children. Often you have to move to the nearest children's hospital, which may be a few hours' drive from where you live. Many families cannot afford it. do it and Ronald McDonald House is ready to help them,”says Legend of the organisation's impact.
“Imagine how scary it is for a child to be alone in a hospital. I am an adult and I cannot even imagine that John would not be next to me and my mother at the most difficult moment of life. This is completely unfair,”adds Teigen. “It's so wonderful to see that it doesn't take long when we can all get together. It's really beautiful, wonderful, especially."
