Video: Gwyneth Paltrow Worries About Raising Her Daughter
The actress from ex-husband Chris Martin has a daughter, Apple, 15, and a son, Moses, 13. Gwyneth Paltrow begins to take more seriously about raising her children, the secrets of raising two teenagers revealed during a recent interview on the Today show.
When journalist Savannah Guthrie asked 47-year-old Gwyneth Paltrow what to expect as her own young children get older, Paltrow replied, "Only the best."
“They really are superior to themselves,” she added. “They are very funny. They're clever. They can talk. They can, as it were, think about things - this is the greatest and most valuable thing."
Gwyneth Paltrow says parenting is the best thing.
“Many may not like this, but Gwyneth Paltrow wanted to give her children a separate space before moving in with her current husband, Brad Falchuk.
In the same interview, Paltrow revealed what she thought of her daughter Apple when she decided to press charges of sexual harassment against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.
Italian actress Asia Argento was one of the first women to speak at the end of 2017 of Weinstein, whom she accused of sexually harassing her in a hotel room under the guise of inviting her to a party when she was 22 years old.
“I was really scared. I think that society has shown us a lot of examples, only mostly examples where women, not being afraid to testify in court, were not beneficial for a woman, but I really felt that the time had come,”said Paltrow.
“I also think that I have a teenage daughter who is the love of my life, and I worry that she will go to work and feel that if there ever was even the slightest chance that this could happen to her, then I have to participate in a cultural shift,”she continued. “I never imagined that cumulatively such a shift would occur, but I am proud to have a small role to play in this.”
In the October 2017 New York Times, Paltrow said that Weinstein sexually stalked her in a hotel room after a movie mogul cast her in the lead role in the film adaptation of Jane Austen's Emma when she was 22 years old. The meeting allegedly ended with Weinstein putting his hands on her and offering a massage.
“I was a kid, I signed a contract, I was overwhelmed,” she told the Times.
