It was important for director Zack Snyder to show Batman and Joker in one episode. He did it, but the actors playing the characters were never able to intersect with each other
The producer of the film "Justice League" Deborah Snyder, she is also the wife of the famous stage director Zach Snyder, gave a short interview for the American edition. The woman emphasized that her husband set himself the main main goal - to shoot an ideal scene where the Joker and Batman are in the same room. It was this episode that Zack decided to add to Justice League and show the long-awaited meeting of two incredibly important rivals. It is worth recalling that Ben Affleck plays Batman in this project, and Jared Leto plays the Joker.
“Unfortunately, Ben and Jared weren't free on the same days, so the scene with them had to be filmed separately. Ben starred with the bulk of the cast, with Amber Heard and Fisher, but Jared was alone. This scene was the last one we filmed, and we managed to do it in three days. Most likely, we would have been able to complete the filming much faster, but the process was complicated by the provided COVID protocols, so it took time. " - says Deborah.
Naturally, quarantine measures did not bypass the Justice League, like other projects, this one was suspended indefinitely. The main shooting of the picture was made several years ago, and the small episode, which was so important for Zach Snyder, stretched over a huge time period. The entire film crew had a hard time, because they were required to comply with all quarantine rules. And when you take into account the fact that Ben Affleck and Jared Leto have incredibly busy schedules, then the task that stood in the way of Zach seemed impossible. However, Snyder got the job done, applying all of his creative solutions.
The director's wife also noted that the scene of the meeting between the Joker and Batman was Zach's main goal and dream. And this episode was the only new episode in the reborn “Justice League”.
“For some reason, many people think that we have brought a huge number of new scenes into the project, but this is not the case. In fact, we filmed everything else a long time ago, we already had it” - Deborah admits.
And we want to remind you that the director's version of the cult film Justice League was presented yesterday, March 18, 2021. The painting lasts almost 4 hours.
