Brooke Shields spent several weeks in the hospital after undergoing multiple surgeries for a fractured femur, which meant she had plenty of time to document and share the “harrowing” experience.
The 55-year-old actress and model spoke to fans about her extended hospital stay via Instagram, sharing several photos in a Friday Flashback post about her accident at the end of January.
“I've come a long way since then, but this is just the beginning,” she captioned the post, which included photos of her heavily bandaged arm and right leg, a selfie with multiple monitors on her chest, and a photo of her sitting in a walker connected to medical machines.
Shields broke her right thigh bone at a NYC gym where she used a balance board. The sitcom star "Unpredictable Susan" suddenly fell off the board, flew into the air and landed hard on her hip, she shared last week.
“It seemed to me that it was all in slow motion. And then I just started screaming,”she said. “There were sounds that I had never heard before. The pain was so excruciating."
